A tractor trailer hauling BFI bins crashed at about 10 a.m. Monday morning on the South Perimeter Highway near Brady Road, which reduced eastbound traffic to only one lane.
The driver was pulled from the wreckage by the jaws of life after about an hour of being stuck in his cab. He was taken to the Health Sciences Centre with non life-threatening injuries.
Watch:
RCMP say the driver, a 38-year-old man from Winnipeg, lost control while making a lane change. No charges have been laid.
Manitoba Conservation was on scene managing cleanup efforts due to the contents of the tipped load.
