Manitobans Get Stiffed on Telus’ iPhone Debut

October 28, 2009 6:25 AM | News

Apple iPhoneTelus has released pricing for the Apple iPhone once it debuts on November 5, but Manitobans will have to wait a little longer to get it.

According to an e-mail sent to Telus customers late Tuesday, the iPhone will not be available in Manitoba and Saskatchewan next month as planned.

The price structure released was as follows:

  • 8 GB 3G ($99.99 on a 3 year term, or $599.99 with no contract)
  • 16 GB 3GS Black or White ($199.99 on a 3 year term, or $699.99 with no contract)
  • 32 GB 3GS Black or White ($299.99 on a 3 year term, or $799.99 with no contract)

No reason was given for the exclusion, but the iPhone is still expected to make its way to our province by Christmas. In anticipation of the launch, Telus announced on Tuesday new ‘Clear Choice’ plans, which exclude System Access Fees and 911 carrier fees.

Even with the delay of hardware, MTS has a long way to go before they can catch up to what Telus plans to offer their customers.
