Sagkeeng Couple Wins $50 Million Jackpot

Lotto MaxA couple on the Sagkeeng First Nation will now have a number of new friends and long lost relatives at their door. That’s because Marie and Kirby Fontaine are $50 million richer.

The Fontaines are the winners of the Lotto Max Jackpot, which is one of the biggest in Canadian history.

The WCLC said Saturday that the single winning ticket was purchased in Manitoba and that the winner had up to one year to claim their prize.

The ticket was bought at Broadlands Convenience Store near Pine Falls.

ChrisD.ca spoke to Marie’s cousin, Terra, who tells us she is a former teacher. Marie now reportedly works at a personal care home.
