Former Winnipegger Ashleigh Banfield will be joining ABC News next year, according to reports Friday afternoon.
The U.S. news woman — who made a name for herself at MSNBC in the early 2000s — has worked at Court TV/truTV since 2005. Today was her last day at the network.
Banfield and ABC News have been paired together in the same category for several months now over an Internet campaign to get her to replace Diane Sawyer.
It wasn’t known in what capacity she will act at ABC.
