The Manitoba Children’s Museum at The Forks is getting a makeover thanks to money from both the federal and provincial governments.
12 new innovative galleries will be created at the museum; part of a $9.5 million investment.
The museum plans to renew its current gallery and add a 3,500 square foot welcome centre to its current location in the historic Kinsmen Building. Once completed, the renovated space will include an art and exhibition centre, dedicated collections storage room and specialized sound and lighting equipment.
The renovations are expected to be completed by late 2010 or early 2011.
