Canadian Author’s Play Opens Season at U of M Theatre

Departures and Arrivals Play - Black Hole Theatre CompanyFormer University of Manitoba faculty member Carol Shield‘s play Departures and Arrivals debuted 25 years ago. This year, it will come back to life as the Black Hole Theatre Company opens its season with it beginning tonight.

Departures and Arrivals was Shields’ first produced play; it was written and staged while she was a professor of English.

Performances run from November 17-21, and November 24-28. Shows start at 8 p.m., except for on November 17 and 24 when the curtain goes up at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $11; $9 for students and seniors. They can be purchased at the door or by calling the box office at 474-6880.

The Black Hole Theatre is located on the lower level of University College, Dysart Road, Fort Garry Campus. Free evening parking is available in Lot B.
