Christmas Cheer Board Asking for Grocery Donations

November 19, 2009 7:15 AM | News

Christmas Cheer BoardThe Christmas Cheer Board will launch in under one week to collect toys, hampers, groceries and other items to those most deserving of them this holiday season.

This year, the Cheer Board is operating out of its new home at the Red River Exhibition (New Exhibitors Building) and will hold an official launch Tuesday, November 24 at 11:30 a.m.

In an e-mail Wednesday, executive director Kai Madsen urged the public to donate groceries at either of their two locations. This season, besides their new building, donations can also be accepted at last year’s headquarters at the SIR Warehouse Sports Store at 1385 Ellice Avenue. The leftover space at the sports warehouse is being used for administrative purposes and donations.

The Cheer Board helped out almost 50,000 people last Christmas by delivering 18,737 hampers.
