November 25, 2009 2:05 PM | News

RCMPA 30-year-old woman from the Gimli area was killed early Wednesday morning in a rollover accident on Highway 8 near Highway 67 in the RM of St. Andrews.

Icy road conditions are believed to have played a role in the accident, which sent the woman to Seven Oaks Hospital then to the Health Sciences Centre where she was pronounced deceased.

The woman’s 35-year-old husband was also in the vehicle, and was taken to hospital in Selkirk in stable condition and appeared to have been wearing a seatbelt. The driver was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt.

The name of the deceased is not being released.

Selkirk RCMP would like to remind motorists that driving habits should be adjusted to the changing weather and road conditions.
