Winnipeg photographers are showing their sincere generosity this holiday season. Just the other day, we told you about the Giving is Awesome contest, which enlists the volunteer services of five local photographers to take portraits of deserving families.
There’s also the Help-Portrait initiative, which will feature a dozen local photographers coming together on Saturday, December 12.
Photographers Ian McCausland and Jim Todd spearheaded the event and will visit two inner-city schools. Members of the community will then be invited to have their portraits taken by professionals.
“There’s nothing better than getting everyone together for a family portrait just in time for the holidays,” McCausland said. “While we’re busy with our daily lives, we sometimes forget that there are people out there in need. This is our chance to give back using our skills.”
Help-Portrait will also take place in 55 other countries across the world.
