It was like a shakedown out of the movies Wednesday morning in several parts of Winnipeg and on the outskirts as police moved in as part of Project DIVIDE.
The Manitoba Integrated Organized Crime Task Force (MIOCTF), along with over 300 police officers, made 26 arrests and conducted 23 searches as part of an investigation initiated in November 2008 to target organized crime on the streets.
The Winnipeg Police Service, RCMP, Brandon Police Service and Ste. Anne Police Service as well as police officers from various police agencies in British Columbia were all involved.
A number of drugs, weapons and other material was seized, which we’ve put into a photo gallery below.
