Winnipeg GoldeyesSecond baseman Josh Asanovich will return to the Winnipeg Goldeyes in 2010.

The team made the announcement Tuesday, which sees Asanovich join five others on next season’s roster.

Asanovich, 26, joined the Goldeyes in April following time in the Devil Rays system. He was equally effective on offence and defence, hitting .285 with a career-best .852 OPS while posting the highest fielding percentage (.978) for a Winnipeg second baseman in 12 years.

The Arizona native was named in September to the Northern League’s post-season all-star team, two months after starting for the Great Plains squad at the NL all-star game.
