A reading therapy program at the Winnipeg Humane Society that received funding from the province will graduate its six students today at 2 p.m. See Spot Read is a program implemented last year that pairs dogs and their handlers — who have completed the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program — with children in an effort to improve their reading skill.

Since its inception in October 2008, the program has experienced significant success with both the students, and all who have been involved.

The students will receive a visit from Jim Rondeau, Minister of Healthy Living, Youth, and Seniors this afternoon.
