Eddie “the Eagle” Edwards was the main attraction for hundreds of people who turned out bright and early to see the Olympic torch Thursday morning.
The Great Britain, 46, who launched to fame on the ski jump of the 1988 Calgary Olympics, carried the torch shortly after 8 a.m.
Edwards spent a day prior in the city taking in some local activities, such as skating at The Forks and climbing the St. Boniface ice tower.
View the photo gallery below, which includes shots of Eddie and other stops from along Day 70 of the relay.
We also had the chance to ride on Media 1 yesterday — the vehicle that travels in front of the torch during the relay.
