By Brian Schultz

RCMP have made a seizure of contraband cigarettes, cigars and cash in Brandon.

A search warrant was executed on January 12 at a residence on 7th Street, which turned up a total of 36 cartons of cigarettes, 133 cigars, 15 grams of marijuana and $3,980 in Canadian currency. The value of all tobacco products and cash seized is approximately $8,000.

A 59-year-old man from Brandon was arrested and faces a number of charges. He will appear in Brandon Court on February 11.

The investigation began after allegations that unstamped cigarettes were being sold in and around the Brandon area.
