A dozen hogs perished in a barn fire Thursday afternoon in rural Manitoba.
RCMP originally reported that all 3,000 hogs in the barn had died, but later issued a corrected statement saying only twelve had been lost.
The blaze broke out at 1:45 p.m. in the RM of Macdonald. The barn belonged to Sunnybrook Swine Inc. of Manitoba, which had seven employees inside the barn at the time of the fire. Fortunately, everyone made it out safely without any injuries.
RCMP, with the assistance of the Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner, continue to investigate. The cause of the fire, as well as damage estimates, are not yet known.
