The city will begin a major snow hauling operation beginning tonight. High snow piles at intersections, around schools, and windrows on boulevards, bridges and underpasses will be removed.

Crews will work on main routes, bus routes, collector streets, and residential streets.

Temporary “no parking” signs will be placed at locations where snow is being removed. Violators may be ticketed or towed.

The removal of snow piles will improve visibility for motorists and pedestrians and make room for storage of snow for subsequent snowfalls.

On Saturday, the city ended its residential overnight parking ban, but the snow route parking ban is still in effect 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. until March 1.
