A three-day student conference held at the University of Manitoba kicks off today with Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger delivering the keynote address.
The 26th annual Manitoba as an International Actor Conference draws leaders from across Canada and will examine Manitoba’s relationship with other provinces, states and countries.
The conference brings together a distinguished group of experts from the government, academic and business sectors to share ideas about how Manitoba affects, and is affected by, its neighbours. Some of the areas to be explored include border security, immigration, trade agreements and the transportation infrastructure linking Manitoba to its neighbours.
Hosted by U of M political studies students, the event is open to the public and takes place in the University College building’s Great Hall beginning at 1:30 p.m. today.
See a full list of speakers on the conference’s website.
