Valentine’s Day Burlesque Show to Heat Things Up

February 9, 2010 6:44 AM | Entertainment

Forget going out for dinner with your sweetheart and having a traditional Valentine’s Day. Local burlesque performers are putting on “The Valentine’s Day Burlesque Show: Stories of Love, Lust & Revenge.”

The show takes place on February 14 at the Academy, 437 Stradbrook Avenue. The group Moonlight Madness is behind the event, and will feature retro and tantalizing burlesque, live music by Johnny Pancreas & the Diabetics and two hilarious hosts, Heather Witherden and Dan Huen.

There will also be an auction for an all expenses paid dinner date with performer Miss la Muse. A portion of the profits will be donated to Haiti relief.

Tickets are $10 at the door. Show time is 10 p.m.

Depending on demand, the group may put on an encore show, “Best of Burlesque,” at a larger venue such as the Gas Station Theatre or Park Theatre. Details on a second show haven’t been released yet.
