Canada has its first gold medal of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games and it happened on home soil! Alexandre Bilodeau of Rosemere, Quebec won the men’s moguls Sunday at Cypress Mountain. Bilodeau posted a time of 26.75 seconds, beating out Australia’s Dale Begg-Smith — a former Canadian himself — and Bryon Wilson of the United States, who took home silver and bronze, respectively. This win is the first time a Canadian has won gold at an Olympic event in Canada.
