Canada picked up its third gold medal of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games Thursday. Christine Nesbitt dominated the ladies’ 1000-metre speed skating at the Richmond Oval with a time of 1:16.56. Annette Gerritsen and Laurine van Riessen of the Netherlands took silver and bronze, respectively, with times of 1:16.58 and 1:16.72.
