Chamber Hosting Olympic-Style Members’ Luncheon

February 18, 2010 7:30 AM | Sports

The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce has a theme for this month’s Membership Luncheon: The Olympics.

Canadian curling champion Jill Officer (left) will be the luncheon’s keynote speaker today and will share with members what it takes to compete at an international level.

CTV sports anchor Leah Hextall will emcee the event and interview live from Vancouver three-time Olympic speed skating medallist Susan Auch, Olympic gold and silver hockey medallist Jennifer Botterill and the parents of Team Canada Olympic hockey player Jonathan Toews.

Attendees to the luncheon are encouraged to wear red and white to cheer on our athletes. Giant screens will air Team Canada’s Kevin Martin curling live from Vancouver, and Jared Funk, silver and bronze medallist in wheelchair rugby at the Paralympic Games, will be on hand for a game of Nintendo Wii.

The luncheon begins at noon at Fort Garry Place.
