Winnipeg Fire Fighters Collect Nearly $25K for Haiti

February 18, 2010 7:15 AM | News

The Winnipeg Fire Department has been collecting donations for the Canadian Red Cross since the devastating earthquake in Haiti on January 12. Local fire halls have been graciously accepting funds from Winnipeggers and have even contributed money themselves.

To date, nearly $25,000 has been collected, with the federal government matching contributions dollar for dollar.

Red Cross representatives will accept the donations later today at the offices of the United Fire Fighters of Winnipeg.
