Canadian Clara Hughes ended her speed skating career on a high note by picking up a bronze medal in the ladies’ 5000-metre at the Richmond Olympic Oval Wednesday. Hughes was in first place after her run, but couldn’t hold on to her time when the afternoon was over.

It’s the sixth Olympic medal for the 37-year-old from Winnipeg, who also acted at Canada’s flag-bearer during the Opening Ceremonies on February 12.

Martina Sablikova of the Czech Republic won gold and Stephanie Beckert of Germany won silver.
