Over 100 pieces of art is on display at Portage Place Shopping Centre until March 31 created by Winnipeg top graphic artists.
The Downtown Winnipeg BIZ organized the display, which included holding two banner competitions to solicit the masterpieces.
The winners were chosen to create new art for Main Street and Chinatown, but there were so many entries and great pieces, they’re being shown in multiple locations. Adam Jefkins and Kate Loewen from Red River College’s graphic design program were the lucky winners, but there were so many other great entries.
“We received so many professional, creative and beautiful designs, we had an extremely hard time choosing,” said Stefano Grande, Downtown BIZ executive director. “Although we could only choose one winner for each location, we felt we had to show off the rest of the designs to the public. These works demonstrate just how much talent we have in our city.”
The banner display is open from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. daily and is located on the second floor of Portage Place next to Ricki’s (the former Smart Set space).
