Nearly 50 snowboarders will compete this weekend in Snow Jam — a competition put on at The Forks and judged in two categories: men’s and women’s opens. They may not be at the level of our Olympic athletes, but they’re pretty good.

Snow Jam is one of the most popular snowboarding events in the province and will run from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.

“If you’re into 360s and 5-0s, you should definitely come down to The Snowboard Fun Park to check out the competition on Saturday,” said Paul Jordan, Chief Operating Officer of The Forks.

Over $2,000 in prizes will be awarded, with the winner taking home $1,000 cash.

The park will be closed to outside boarders during the competition. Those interested in competing can register at the hill on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Registration is $40.
