RCMP members from the Shamattawa, Manitoba detachment have been collecting hockey equipment for kids in the northern community for several weeks. To help go along with the skating rink the Mounties created, they wanted youth in the area to have the proper equipment to play hockey.

The response from generous donors was tremendous, as you can see in the photo above. Last Saturday, the equipment was distributed for use.

Overall, 112 pairs of skates were collected, along with 13 helmets, 50 sticks, and a number of elbow pads, gloves, etc.
