Bison Rookie Beaming After Multiple Honours

It’s been a great week so far for the Manitoba Bison women’s team with the announcement of defenceman Caitlin MacDonald named to Team Canada’s Women’s Hockey Under-18 Team. The 17-year-old was also named Canada West Rookie of the Year. Her coach, Jon Rempel, only had positive things to say of the 5’7″ Winnipeg native.

The team will travel outside the province this week, heading to Edmonton to take on the Alberta Pandas.

The women will play in the Canada West Final best-of-three playoff series to defend their conference title, while the men will also play in the series to try and win a berth into the CIS Championship in Saskatchewan. The ladies take to the ice on Friday and Saturday, and if necessary, a third game will be played Sunday. video
