The Assiniboine River Trail has been closed for the season due to warm weather.
“We can no longer maintain the skating surface and street run-off is inundating the trail. We had a good run, but it’s now time to stay off the river,” said Chief Operating Officer Paul Jordan on Friday.
The hockey game on Saturday — with former Winnipeg Jets players and members of the media — will go ahead as planned. It will be the last programmed event on the trail.
