Ice fishing in and around Winnipeg may be over for the season, but the conditions east of the city are still favourable.
The 7th Annual Falcon Lake Winter Fish-Off takes place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Ice conditions as of March 15 were ‘safe,’ with ice depth being 35 iches.
The top prize is $10,000 for the heaviest fish, with awards being handed out at 3 p.m. at the Whiteshell Community Club.
The tournament is held on the west side of the lake.
