Pasta Benefit Dinner to Help Winnipeg Family Start Over

March 19, 2010 7:08 AM | News

A family with seven children was displaced from their Bannerman Avenue home (above) earlier this month after fire destroyed it on March 6.

Raina Graves and Dean Haasbeek have been staying with friends since then, while donations to replace their belongings pour in. The family didn’t have insurance to replace what was lost in the blaze.

To help the large family out, a benefit dinner in their honour has been organized for Saturday, March 20.

The dinner will take place at the Our Lady of Victoria Parish Hall, 249 Arnold Ave., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Tickets are available by calling 452-7632. Prices are $10, $5 for children 12-years-old and under, and free for children under 2.

Donations are also being accepted at any financial institution in Dean Haasbeek’s name under account number 5026281, transit number 06827 and financial institution number 003.
