Two Winnipeg libraries are set to undergo extensive renovations over the coming months and will temporarily close.
The Louis Riel Library at 1168 Dakota Street will be closed from mid-May until the end of June, while the Osborne Library at 625 Osborne Street will be closed from the beginning of August to mid-September.
The City of Winnipeg says both facilities will receive new flooring, painting and carpeting throughout, as well as new counters, furniture, shelving, seating and computers.
Both libraries are due for upgrades, especially the Louis Riel Library, which has been operating for over twenty years.
Holds will be forwarded to the St. Vital Library during construction.
Earlier this month, the city closed the St. Boniface Library temporarily while it underwent renovations.
