A snowmobile accident at Young’s Point has claimed the life of a man from The Pas.

Joseph Carriere, 46, died as the result of a single snowmobile collision on Tuesday. RCMP responded at about 11 a.m. and determined a passenger on the snowmobile had left the scene. A 40-year-old woman was later located with a broken leg and suffering from head trauma. She was flown to Winnipeg, where she is currently listed in stable condition.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in the incident and continue to investigate.

Young’s Point is located approximately 10 kilometres south of The Pas on Highway 10.
