The alumni of River East Collegiate have been hard at work planning a 50th reunion to take place next summer.
Organizers are currently looking for more ideas (and former students) to bring to the event, taking place June 24-26, 2011.
Al Smaluk, one of the school’s first principals, has been located in Ottawa. The 90-year-old is looking forward to reminiscing with former staff and students.
The three-day event will include an open house at the school, a dinner and dance at the Winnipeg Convention Centre and many introductions.
