With Easter just around the corner, Winnipeg’s Siloam Mission needs all the help they can get from generous donors — especially less than a week after letting over a dozen employees go.
The Princess Street charity has put out multiple calls for help over the last several weeks on Twitter (@siloammission) for much-needed supplies. ICUC Moderation Services wants to extend those efforts by helping out Siloam.
Shop for Siloam will take place Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Real Canadian Superstore at 80 Bison Drive. Organizers are hoping the power of social media will help bring people together to make a donation to Siloam at the store during the event.
In anticipation for Easter, the Mission needs 20 hams, 200 lbs of potatoes, 30 kg of frozen mixed vegetables, 50 cans of apple sauce, 700 individual bread rolls, and trifle.
You can track the progress of the grocery drive on Twitter by following #shop4siloam as the hashtag.
