The Citizens for Quality Health Care will host a forum on Monday, April 12 in Virden with special guest Dr. Deborah Poff, president of Brandon University.
Dr. Poff will discuss the possible formation of a school of medicine affiliated with Brandon University. Before arriving in Brandon, Poff was able to successfully campaign for the creation of a medical school at the University of Northern British Columbia.
The idea is to attract more rural students to the area of medicine and have them trained to fill voids in the health field currently being experienced in urban centres.
The forum begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Virden Elks Hall.
