Over 370 tickets have been sold for tonight’s 17th annual Taste of the Nation at the Fairmont Winnipeg.
Thirty of the finest local restaurants will share samples of their food, including Bistro 7 1/4, 529 Wellington, Saucers Café, Blaze Bistro and Deluca’s, just to name a few.
The Chef’s Dinner event — part of Taste of the Nation — featured an auction as well as a wonderful night of fine cuisine on Sunday.
Tickets for tonight’s tasting are $80 through Ticketmaster, with 100% of the proceeds going back into the community.
The charitable organization, Share Our Strength, is putting on the event, which will raise support to alleviate hunger and poverty in Winnipeg and around the world.
“All the money raised goes right back to this city, teaching people how to feed their families, providing lunch programs and other community needs,” said Jenny Tasker, Co-Chair of Taste of the Nation. “And each participating restaurant donates its food and beverages, making Taste of the Nation one of the largest events of its kind in the city.”
Taste of the Nation runs from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. More details are available at Strength.org.
