A 69-year-old man is dead after being thrown from a vehicle during a rollover on Highway 12 south of Blumenort, Manitoba on Tuesday.

RCMP say a 2002 Toyota RAV4 was travelling southbound at about 2 p.m., when the driver lost control and rolled the vehicle into the ditch.

The 31-year-old female driver was taken to Ste. Anne Hospital and then transported to the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg in stable condition. The 69-year-old passenger was taken to the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say alcohol is not a factor in the crash, but that the passenger was not wearing a seat belt, which was a contributing factor in the fatality.

The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.

The investigation is continuing.
