Three people were injured Monday night in an ATV collision on Road 33 East in the RM of Hanover.

RCMP say a northbound four wheeler rear-ended a second stationary four wheeler carrying a couple in their 30’s at around 9 p.m. The 26-year-old driver of the northbound four wheeler was wearing a helmet, but the riders on the second ATV were not.

All three individuals are from Grunthal and were taken to local hospitals, but have since been transferred to the Health Sciences Centre where they remain in serious condition.

Police say the northbound four wheeler was reported stolen in August 2006 from a residence in the RM of Ste. Anne.

Alcohol was not a factor in the collision, but speed is believed to have been.

UPDATE: 7 p.m. — 26-year-old Nathan Taylor was pronounced dead at 3:25 p.m. on Tuesday. He was driving the ATV, which RCMP say was stolen. Excessive speed and visibility are considered factors in the fatality.
