The province is making available 29 e-waste collection depots beginning May 1.
Conservation Minister Bill Blaikie made the announcement Wednesday at Urbanmine — a collection facility on Rothwell Road for used electronic waste. The new depots are part of the E-waste Roundup program established in 2007. Last year, 1.5 million kilograms was recycled, which is double the amount of e-waste turned in during the two previous years combined.
Watch:
Manitobans are big supporters of recycling e-waste already. Last Earth Day, a depot was made available in the south end of the city and the response was overwhelming. Similar smaller depots operated in the days to follow due to increased demand.
