A Winnipeg park will benefit from the proceeds raised when Manitoba Homecoming 2010 holds the World’s Largest Social on Saturday, May 15.

Greenspace located at the corner of Sherbrook and McDermot will be named Homecoming Park, organizers announced Thursday. The Health Sciences Centre Foundation, Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba and the CancerCare Foundation of Manitoba are behind the move to enhance the area, which will include shrub and flower beds, planters filled with bright annuals, more shade trees and comfortable new sitting / gathering areas.

Tickets for the social being held at the Winnipeg Convention Centre are $15 each through Ticketmaster, or at any of the host charities mentioned above.
