Manitoba Search and Rescue is expanding its Service Dog Program and is putting out the call for trainers and foster homes for puppies and sponsors.
The MSAR Dog Program provides fully trained service dogs to deserving families free of charge. The minimum cost for a service dog usually begins at $10,000.
The newest dog in training is Mocha (above) — learning various tasks and supportive roles to assist her partner. She came from the Winnipeg Humane Society, where MSAR adopts about 85% of their dogs.
