A new skills marketing service started by a group of entrepreneurial Manitoba refugees will officially launch this morning.
Ref-Nyota — which means “refugee stars” in Swahili — is a Winnipeg-based service that promotes the skills and talents of refugees. Ref-Nyota introduces their products, services and creative strengths to potential employers — allowing the refugee community to fully engage in the Canadian workforce.
The opening ceremony for the service will take place at 10 a.m. at the Franco-Manitoban Cultural Centre in St. Boniface. Executive Director Serge Kaptegaine, along with several dignitaries, will be on hand.
More information on Ref-Nyota can be found on their website at RefNyota.com.
