The Henderson Library at 1-1050 Henderson Highway is set to close Monday for renovations and expansion.
The planned expansion will add approximately 6,000 square feet of space, bringing the existing library to a total of 18,060 square feet. Renovations will include new shelving and furniture, new collections space, more reading and study space, a dedicated children’s program room, new program room and a new tutorial room.
An Open House at the library will be held today, April 24 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to view and provide feedback on the proposed plans. Refreshments will be provided.
Updates on the progress of the library will be available at Winnipeg.ca/library.
The Henderson Library will reopen in the fall of 2010.
