Fire Destroys Riverside Lodge in Duck Bay

Fire engulfed the Riverside Lodge in the Community of Duck Bay on Sunday. RCMP say crews were called to the lodge at about 10:40 a.m., but were unable to control the blaze.

Damage was done to the main lodge, a mobile home, hunting cabins and several sheds, leaving only three cabins standing.

Preliminary estimates put the damage in excess of $500,000.

The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.

No one was injured.

Duck Bay is located about 450 km northwest of Winnipeg.
