Folk Festival Awarding Bursaries for Three-Day Retreat

The Winnipeg Folk Festival is holding a three-day Folk Retreat from July 4-7 to have participants collaborate with festival performers. This year’s instructors will be Pura Fé, Sam Baker and Braebach. The program is tailored to musicians of all ages and abilities.

The bursary deadline for the Folk Retreat is Saturday, May 1, with the early bird deadline for Folk Retreat plus Folk Festival Pass special pricing being on May 15. General registration is due by June 25.

Bursaries will be awarded to participants based on musicianship, potential to contribute to their community and financial need. Bursaries will cover all tuition costs and meals during the three-day event.

The Folk Rereat will be held at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg, 603 Wellington Crescent.

The Winnipeg Folk Festival begins immediately after on July 7 to 11.
