The leading cause of identity theft is having your personal papers, such as credit card statements, fall into the wrong hands.

Saturday is Free Personal Shred Day at four locations throughout Winnipeg, as ALLMOVE Mobile Shredding disposes safely of your personal papers in support of Osborne House. Donations aren’t required, but they would be greatly appreciated, say organizers.

Visit any of the following Crosstown Civic Credit Union locations to get rid of old tax returns, bills, receipts, and other sensitive items: 1200 Henderson Highway, 1250 Portage Avenue, 1536 Regent Avenue and 2800 Pembina Highway.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
