A giant auction in La Broquerie on Saturday is aiming to raise funds for the construction of 24 new assisted living suites for the community’s elderly population.
All kinds of items will be available to bid on, from electronics, to household furnishings. A signed Jonathan Toews jersey is even up on the block.
$900,000 has already been raised towards the $1 million goal since 2008. Raising funds for Le Chalet is important to those living in La Broquerie, as their family members won’t have to leave the community to receive care elsewhere.
Registration for the auction begins at 11 a.m. at the La Broquerie Arena.
