The City of Winnipeg is giving the public a chance to see inside the Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) today. The EOC handles emergency preparedness operations for the entire city and coordinates a response during major peace time disasters.
The public will have an opportunity to view the centre, speak with department representatives and view the technology involved in managing disaster situations in the city.
The EOC is located in the lower level of City Hall, Council Building, 510 Main Street. The public can enter through the front doors of City Hall.
The open house will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and is part of National Emergency Preparedness Week.
