The recent weather and weekend frost may not have gardeners thinking about planting veggies, but for one local business owner, it’s time to sell fresh tomatoes.
Erin Crampton of Crampton’s Market at 1765 Waverley Street is set open today for the first time this season. After weeks of preparing, she says the store is ready to offer up Manitoba asparagus, rhubarb and other locally grown items.
“My baker is in the kitchen trying out some new recipes, my lovely electrician of a boyfriend has been up in the attic rewiring some things, and my most wonderful parents have been helping to get things organized,” Erin wrote on her blog.
The market went through a major renovation last season and expanded its space to a second neighbouring building.
Store hours this season are Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m to 6 p.m.
