Horse racing at Assiniboina Downs officially begins Sunday for the first time this season. The annual Mother’s Day event signals the 52nd season of live racing at the track.
The most competitive jockeys will get things going at 1 p.m., as the rest of the facility offers up activities for the kids.
ASD held their annual open house last weekend in preparation for this year’s season. Tours were given and jockeys were available to speak to the public about their profession.
Regular scheduled live racing will take place Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, as well as during some holidays, including Monday, May 24.
